Cool New and disoriented!

Hi guys. I'm new to the forum. I figure with all the time I spend goofing off on youtube, mini pool, craigslist, and porn, I should be wasting some time talking about good (and bad) music too. Other peoples passion both teach me and inspire me to continue with mine.

Good lord that sounded gay.

Me, I'm a blues cat myself. I'm 20, a Singer Songwriter, and always practicing. The Black Keys are a huge influence of mine (because im so unique lol), as well as The Doors, The Clash, Clapton, Jimi, the whole nine. Punk is my secret love, I love to skank and mosh my brains out but fear that I have outgrown it. Nobody wants to pay you to play punk, unfortunately. I'm sick of boring restruant gigs, or wearing a lame ass suit and playing scales for an art gallery or something. I want to be loud and bad and flail the **** out for a change.

It is not difficult to get discouraged with the music world, and the way the regular world percieves my music. The Sellouts, the mainstream, the death of so many beautiful genres, and the casual American Listener all really frustrate me. To be honest, for the first time part of me has been questioning If I really want to do this, pursue this dream. I moved out of my rockstar life playing the blues and parking lot hustling at Redrocks in Denver, Colorado to move back to Florida, and enroll in Sound Engineering School. A big part of me thinks I am selling out.

I guess I come here looking for support, looking for people to give support to, to be enlightened as to great new bands, genres, and venues, and to meet other people going through similar or different situations. I'm new and don't know anybody yet, so feel free to respond or PM something about yourselves and whatnot.

See ya'll around!
