I didn't realise you owned the forum and decided on who can and who can't reply to your comments. I'll reply if I want to, that's the wonderful thing about an online forum - I get to take the piss out of people like you.

Best introduction ever.

Apart from RockGuitar101

It's up there, even though the op is a bit http://i1204.photobucket.com/albums/...f?t=1289501232

Intro threads don't usually get to 5 pages. I need to find RockGuitar101's intro.

Interesting. There are people already there struggling to go in the opposite direction.
Why on earth would you actively seek to live a life of darkness?

I can't speak for him (TCS), but I know I'm not stupid and I fail to understand too.
Maybe you should do the non stupid thing here and explain what it is you mean exactly.
Another thing I fail to understand is the trouble you went to in making a comment you don't want to explain.
Why make that comment in the first place?

I'm looking forward to a fascinating explanation from a potentially fascinating person.
Failing that you just come over as an attention seeking, self professed faux enigma.
In short...a plantpot!

how does one exactly live the life of darkness? If it would make me better then all the other people my age I'd like to sign up for it :D

Not unless you're all seeking a life of darkness.
What does that mean?

Is he planning on blinding himself?

Paedantic Basterd 11-11-2010 12:10 PM

I personally don't want to be a complete **** about this, but honestly, this isn't an environment for closed-minded music fans. We can't benefit you, and you can't benefit us if you're going to choose to disregard so many possibilities.

Maybe he wants to live in a dark room forever. Cutting himself with the broken shards of marylin manson album cases and vainly convincing himself somebody loves him. Maybe.

TheCunningStunt 11-11-2010 12:11 PM

Maybe he'll join Slytherin when he grows up and gets accepted into Hogwarts.

Yeah! After all, life is just a brief flicker of light between an eternity of darkness.
Why wait.

Scissorman: I hate both the videos you have shown to me, and you probably never listened to cindergarden. I listen to their songs for dark inspiration.

The top video is rock? This is something I call pu**y rock, if you know what I mean. The second video is the black metal genre. I like SOME black metal songs, but only those which have some melody to them.
The music that I like is between those 2, closer to the black metal.

I have a few things for you.

1. Define "pussy rock". If that's "pussy rock", then most of the music I listen to would be overwhelmingly lame to you.

2. Name three BLACK metal bands, and one of their songs. If you're a fan of dark music, I will give you bonus points if you can name at least two drone doom bands. If you fail to name one verifiably black metal band, I'll write you off as another person who worships/looks down on a genre even though they know nothing about it. I only have a few jazz albums on my computer right now but I'm not proclaiming to the world "JAZZ IS THE BEST GENRE EVAR!!!" because I only know about five jazz bands/composers/whatever.

3. I listened to one Cindergarden song and I was a little unimpressed. I can think of billions of bands that are darker. Hell, even Geogaddi era Boards Of Canada was darker than that. Your 3D background was promising, but your many wrongs have overshadowed that.

You comment is the only one worth reading, so I will answer with enthusiasm and without Google.

I know 2 black metal bands: Samael and Cradle of filth. Most of black metal is actually plain screaming.

For the dark music: I wanted to post about that. Do you know any dark songs that are worth listening to?

Cradle Of Filth are the most commercial black metal band and even Britney fans know about them. They are more gothic than black nowadays. As for Samael, that is industrial, at least the last few albums are.

bahahaha!!!!
im sorry but ur intro makes it sound like u are trying waaaay to hard...
please clarify this for me:
are you "dark" or do you just hate life and all things happy?
do u sacrifice puppies, and swim in a razory black abyss of misery and pain in your spare time?

i cant stand people getting picked on but whats even worse is people who try too hard! be yourself! no body wants to be "dark" and "brooding" and "miserable" all the time! cheer up emo kid!

gag me...

Black Metal is most certainly not just screaming. I've had a recent introduction to metal from a very helpful member on here and I know now that metal isn't "just screaming" (though I am a fan of the occasional screamy song)

Because I'm feeling nice today, and I feel like giving people music to listen to, I'm going to give you a few dark songs to listen to.

EXTRA LIFE - BLACKMAIL BLUES

You might not like the singing, but the music behind it is phenomenal. And if you're interested, here's an interesting live video I found.

KAYO DOT - MARATHON

A metal band I was introduced to a while back that I currently love very much. While they're not for everyone, they're still a very good band and I recently was able to become last.fm friends with the drummer (!).

BOARDS OF CANADA - MUSIC IS MATH

Geogaddi-era BOC was ****ing dark. Music Is Math never ceases to give me nightmares, and the ending is pure scaryness. I would understand if you didn't like it though. Electronic music isn't for everyone. PLEAAAASE turn this onto 720p on the youtube page. It'll sound much better.

THE MARS VOLTA - THE DRUNKSHIP OF LANTERNS

While The Mars Volta isn't the darkest of bands, they sure have an amazing singer who I'm jealous of. This band has everything you want. Two guys with afros, prog, an awesome guitarist, and several other cool things you should find out yourself. I strongly recommend you go and download De-Loused In The Comatorium. It's their best album.

And here's a warning for you:
Don't restrict yourself to one sound/genre/style. Broaden your horizons and don't be afraid to ask for help. Which goes to say that not all non-dark music is bad. I know several light, fluffy, fun bands that deserve some sort of ultimate music award.

xf5hsd 11-11-2010 02:04 PM

Dayvan Cowboy: Thanks, but none of those are dark. The second one might be, but I dislike electronic. Cindergarden would still be the best. Just listen to all of their songs for damnations sake! They are not that difficult to download.

ravenRAWRRR and the other hundred or so member who do not understand the 'darkness' I am talking about: It is a feeling. Not in an enclosed area, not sacrificing puppies or swimming in misery. Misery, sadness and hatred is not a feature usually associated with me. This is pathetic, but sometimes I even feel remorse when I kill a fly, lol. I do not hate living things unless I have a good reason to, but when I do my hatred is great. This 'darkness' I have learned about after finishing the game 'Silent hill 2', and it is impossible to convey. I can only feel it in LARGE open spaces with certain features attached to them. It is a sense of freedom, horror and hollowness. I am not gothic, emo or satanic. Few weak examples of this might be:

GOD DAMN IT. I cannot post images:banghead:.

Again, do not reply with hate unless you understand.

And as I stated before (I think), I respect each man as I would respect myself until they disrespect me (The same applies to 'women').

Scissorman 11-11-2010 02:07 PM

so, what music (other than cindergarden) is dark in your opinion?

a video game changed your life THAT drastically? oh wow... is it wrong that i find the patheticness of that humorous? i mean, peoples life usually changes when they go through intense situations, experience life from someone elses view point, hear a great speaker, etc. usually NOT from videogames. so if i play silent hill 2, will i become dark like you? will i at least understand this "darkness" you speak so fondly of?

it sounds to me from the way that u describe this feeling of "darkenss" that you may just have a phobia of large open spaces and may be experiencing a bit of psychosis along with it. u should get help for that :)

and you say that you are not satanic, yet you say GOG dammit instead of god dammit. im not saying that you need to be christian or anything cuz i could really care less about what your religious beliefs are but if u dont wanna come off as satanic u probly shouldnt say GOG DAMMIT!

hehehe

mmk buddy? :D

right-track 11-11-2010 02:29 PM

The "darkness" sounds very much like mental illness to me.

Why have you put women in apostrophes? Are you implying that they might not actually exist? I have to inform you kid, they're not some media fantasy cooked up to keep social misfits like you confused. They do actually exist. Some of them are even people!

But then, you wouldn't know that, I suppose.

thanks buddy :)

GOG dammit:yikes:? bloody hell, a misprint. Silent Hill 2 is not just a video game, it is the perfect horror game I was waiting for my whole life. Most people do not experience what I did, but this game gave me understanding of what I really want. I suck at explaining, so I will probably leave it at this. Anyway, the silent hill music is what I am after. Already got 2 dvd's of it.

Scissorman: One song is forsaken by disturbed (Better than the korn version), (next I will give you the song keywords that will be first on the YouTube list) silent hill fading , silent hill witchcraft , silent hill always on my mind , one more soul to the call , dance with the night wind , desolate streets , silent hill conspiracy , fermata in mystic air , silent hill true , silent hill betrayal , silent hill movie samael , silent hill music hometown , silent I want love , sickness unto foolish death , room of angels , promise reprise , (And the best one yet): alex theme .

Please do not despise me because I might seem arrogant. I suck at explaining.
