Welcome to MusicBanter, infantrysgirl!

What instruments do you like playing? And do you find yourself composing music in a particular style, or do you experiment with a variety of genres?

Hey! I have played violin for years and now play guitar and drums as a beginner! I'm trying to learn trumpet, too, which is really tough on lips.

The Fray...they're played a lot on the radio station we have on at work. Other than that I haven't listened to them much (except now I'm listening to "How to Save Life," to remember what they sound like). They have a kind of mellow, strong sound, I feel.

i love the sound of strings in general and thought i should try it out. although my main goal is to play the cello...i am in love with the sound
but guitar is so much fun to play once ya get the basics down

the fray have a solid mellow sound i agree. i love listening to the piano integrated within their songs. Some of their songs sound really similar (you get that with any band) but ive always enjoyed listening to the actual music behind the singing.

I love the sound of the cello, too! I have cello envy when I play my violin in the orchestra I'm part of.

I also appreciate the integration of instruments and singing. I noticed they do have very nice piano in their songs!
