Typical Intro Thread Title

Hey people, I'm Ama. I'm 19 and hail from New York.

I have loved music my life whole life, but just started developing my own individual tastes in the past few years. Before that it was the crap that my parents subjected me to (smooth jazz *blegh*) and whatever I'd come across on the radio.

I like a lot of reggae, metal (my natural inclination is towards doom, but I like some death too), punk, indie, classic rock, ambient, gothic rock, rockibilly, whatever. My favorite genres are definitely soul/blues/classic southern stuffs. I feel like I probably listen to too much Hank Williams to be healthy.

I was relaxing to Tom Waits' Heart Attack and Vine while writing this, though. He's the man, fo' sho'.

I really like Lady Gaga too though, so I'm sure I lose a bunch of cool points for that. Bad Romance is totally worth it, lol.
