Default California girl

Hi Everyone,

My name is Jessica and I was born in Quebec Canada but living in Menlo Park California now. I speak both French and English fluently. I think all my cerebral activities are in French but you can hardly tell I have any accent when I speak English.

I enjoy making music and listening to music. Celine Dion is my favorite singer and as you might have guessed correctly "Pour Que Tu M'aimes Encore" is my favorite song too.

Nice meeting you guyz here on this wonderful forum.

Au revoir tout le monde.

Hi Jessica,

Welcome to MusicBanter. Le 'something something! That's, unfortunately, about the extent of my French! Peppy Le Peu? There! I know that.

I understand what you mean about the language in your mind being different than the one you speak. When I was younger, I liked thinking in German. It just felt much closer to my true thoughts than English.

Say, have you ever seen a French-Canadian movie called Leolo? A strange, disturbing, funny and sad movie. I quite like it.

Celine Dion...ooog! I like her as a person but her music has never been my favorite, perhaps because it sounds so super-dooper emotional. I'll give your favorite song a listen again, though! Maybe I'll change my mind.

Well, that is a pretty song. She has a pretty voice. Wispy. And it's in French. That's a bonus!

She looked old in this video. The song was first sung in 1991 or close to that. That was about the year when I was born. I remember my parents used to play her songs when driving so I knew all her songs by heart too, especially the French ones.

I didn't realize the song was so old! I can understand your affinity for songs of your childhood. The ones I listened to when I was little feel special to me, too.
