Hey there,

I mainly got into this forum to let people know about what Breaking Way (one of my musical projects) is up to.

As I am sort of a n00b, could someone let me know where or what the best place is to post info or start a thread about it?

OK. Obviously (and as I said I was MAINLY here for that reason), promoting my musical project(s) is not the only reason I am here for. But there must be a place where people can post whatever they are busy with. Not?

I'll make a deal with you. Make some worthwhile music-related posts and I'll point you in the right direction.

There isn't

We did have a place once. We got rid of it because we were bored of people promoting their bands and then fucking off.

So if you are MAINLY here for that reason I suggest you might be better finding somewhere else.

Urban - I'll be the judge of that. Let me hang around to get to know this forum and it's purposes, 'cause I'm not getting any smarter from this introduction section and most posts to my topic.

Welcome to MB!

The MB official rule is that self-promotion isn't acceptable...but the unofficial rule appears to be that if you've been here a while then you are welcome to share your musical works. ;) Strange...I know...a site about music where you aren't supposed to discuss music that people are working on!

So, what most people who like to make music do here, I think, is post in the music forums, get to know people, and then go on over to the songwriting section and start a thread to share lyrics, first, and then actual songs later.

Or they just jump right in and put their first post in the songwriting section. That's what I did! ;) I didn't post in this community section for a week or so after I joined, since I didn't see it at first since it is DOWN HERE SO LOW...and the songwriting section rules don't mention it. So, you are already one step ahead of me! :p:

Like Urban said, there are indeed other music forums that have a section dedicated to people sharing their works...keeping it compartmentalized but available. The closest thing there is to that here is the songwriting section just above in the "Artists' Corner."

In most music forums promotion is indeed the thing, but apparently not in all of them.
