Default Hi everyone, I am new here! :)

Hi, my name is David and I hate rap and country, but love rock and classical music. I hope to learn about various music here and expand my tastes. Nice meeting you all!

God people who say they hate Country 99% of the time haven't heard any country other than the Dixie Chicks and Taylor Swift.

Default Country??

Soooo true, James1. Music that is lumped into the Country Genre yet breaks all the set rules is a pleasure to explore. Try ALL the "West Texas" country sounds. Bleu Edmundson Band, Stoney LaRue, Mickey & The Motorcars to name a few. THAT is great country.

I don't necessarily agree with a lot of the conservative politics associated with the genre, though it's an inconsistent affair... remember "Thank You, Mr President"? Nashville's unreleased tribute to Nixon?

And Charley Pride, a country artist with a career spanning four decades, and more record sales than Johnny Cash, remains largely uncelebrated... it's a difficult genre for African-Americans to get into, yet his contributions surely deserve widespread recognition?

Oh and don't get me started on Cowboy Troy! :p

It's silly to disregard an entire genre of music, no one has heard every single country and every single rap artist in the world.
I completely agree with you.

To completely disregard a genre without giving it a real chance is extremely ignorant. Even Hip-Hop, if it's not your thing then fine. But to hate it I don't know how anyone can listen to an album like Illmatic and say it's shit.

Don't worry, his other half likes Hiphop. And by other half, I actually mean other half.
