Don't know where to start!

Hi! I've been boxing with record companies, uncertain musicians, and wannabes for years. I finally think I can do this without all that thanks to the Internet, but I don't know where to begin. I've uploaded some songs to some download sites, but am still looking for insight so here I am. Yet here, too, I don't know where to begin! So much to read! Oh, and I AM looking for musicians to kick start things both in SF (or Oaktown) and LA

I think an introduction is the best way to start on here. So how bout sharing with the masses your favourite bands?
