Exclamation Is this thing on

Where to start. Well, okay I'm new; there I said it. But don't hold that against me.

I'm uuummmm 27. (sorry had to do the math.) I'm a male the last I looked. My location is Earth, then make a left toward the US. Finally head south to Texas.

My music repertoire is not large. I like a little bit from all genres. I have had little time for the radio but mostly want to go beyond the overplayed crap that gets airtime.

I can't be specific about what I like but I can tell you what I hate.
Including:

miley cyrus = nails on a chalkboard then break the chalkboard in to pieces and shove them in my ears
fergie = would rather have my man bits stepped on by a circus elephant
lady gaga = running through a field of razor wire while it rained salt and lemon juice

that is to say that I am sure they are lovely people but to me talent is a prerequisite for a singing career.

I am looking forward to making new friends and having wonderful conversations with you.

So what are you looking to get into specifically, beyond "the overplayed crap that gets airtime"?

Do tell.

See you caught me with my pants down. I don't know what specifically because I haven't heard it yet. I need to go to more live performances and street festivals. But I either miss them or they get cancelled.

Welcome, my best advice is search through the music forums and check out some of the bands that are discussed. Sooner or later you'll find something you like.

Inevitably we get people who come in here and lambaste whatever popular songs they want to including the all-time favorite introduction (that's sarcasm btw) "i like everything except for hip-hop and country" without actually commenting on what gets them hard. It's an unfortunate disposition that diffuses conversation and makes us less interested in new members. We're not really interested in what you dislike, we're more concerned with your favorite music.

Pray tell, what do you LIKE?

Hellooo! You've come to the best place for new music. The amount of music I didn't know and stole of members here is ridiculous! If I may make a few suggestions of my favourite bands that I, as of yet, have not heard on the radio, here you go: psapp, band of horses, Islands and the Decemberists are a few of my favs... Got to start somewhere on your search to the new-musical-you right?

Stick around for a month or two and we'll change all that

Hells Bells, who doesn't want to be interesting. and Coming out with an opening statement like I like everything but " Yodeling", can't help the situation.

And knowing my situation I'm might explain why "what I like is" so hard to answer.
I have been to one concert in my life, it was Creed. And the only reason I got to go is because it was free.
Also, you should probably know this, I own two CD. One is Boys II Men that I borrowed in 1993 and never returned, and the other is the Jay-z Black Album which was orphaned at my house after a "bring your own music" party.

That is to say that I have actually purchased a grand total of zero CD's lifetime.
However, I am a child of the modern age and the internet has been kind to me. So I have a collection of songs.

The biggest problem with this is that you are a slave to the radio. And when a song hits big, it is played to the point where nausea sets in. Overplayed songs get downloaded and then stored.

I'm not trying to be evasive or dull, but really I am a man in search of an identity.

Of the songs you have, what kind do you like? I'll be glad to make some recommendations and share my music if I know where to start. Do you like hip hop? Rock? Classical music? Country? Blackened Fiddle-Core? What kind of sound do you dig?
