Hello there!

Hello Music Banter! I'm pretty much a newbie to music forums, but I'm a big fan of almost all music, except modern mainstream junk. Favourite period of music, 1960-1989 :D I'm 18, but I've caught up on almost all the big bands in the past 50 years. I often get referred to as a 50 year old living in a young persons body, which I find quite hilarious.

Anyways, I'll look forward to debating with you all :D

Welcome to the site!!! I often get reffered to as "Lost in the stoned age," Get it? Yeah not that funny, but it's because much like you I don't go mainstream and I listen I classicrock.

Mojo 04-01-2010 07:35 AM

Alot of classic rock was mainstream in its day.

Anyway, welcome to the boards.

Septimoose 04-01-2010 07:45 AM

Aye, a lot of classic rock was mainstream in its day, but it has been given a chance to mature and blossom into the awesomeness it is today :)

Mojo 04-01-2010 08:09 AM

Or get lost in the shuffle and become fairly irrelevant to anything happening today. Classic Rock is such a big umbrella under which to place bands of different styles, different influences and different era's that it's extremely hard, if not impossible, to define it.

Some Classick rock is awesome. Some of its shit. :P

I don't know which tag is worst, "classic rock" or "oldies"...

Septimoose 04-01-2010 08:51 AM

Hey, nothing wrong with Classic Rock or Oldies.

Electric Light Orchestra, Billy Joel, Queen, The Rolling Stones, Dire Straits, David Bowie, The Faces, Simple Minds, Bon Jovi... the list of epicness goes on :)

NumberNineDream 04-01-2010 09:02 AM

I'm talking about the tags ... geez.

And Music is not like wine, you don't keep it in a cave to enjoy it decades later. You should just discover all the greatness as its happening, and stop nagging about all the "good days" being a part of the past on your rocking chair, as YOU are the one that is pushing them into the past.

Stop faking "maturity", and get mature already.
... A wise Sean Connery once said: Some old, other mature... Dewars 12

Hahaha I see you've already created quite a stir.
Welcome to Music Banter.

And I would do anything to go back and live in that time.

I'll keep that in mind when I invent my time machine and can actually go back to before I was born when this music was happening, hahaha. On the subject of wine, do you seriously know people who keep it in caves!? If so, tell them that a cellar is much more convenient. Also, I am not pushing this music and as you said the "good days" into the past, I am simply enjoying the music that the past has had to offer.

If you want to lecture me about maturity, feel free to do so without quoting from Sean Connery. I mean, of ALL the great philosophers, thinkers and wise men... you chose Sean Connery to back it up!? What can I say, lol!

Well, it should be fun seeing you all around the forums :)
Catch ya later.

Bahahahaha!

I'm a fellow newbie :P but I can still welcome you I guess? So, welcome to MB!
