Hi! Its a pleasure to not meet you.
Hey my name is Amy. I am some what of a "wallflower" as my boyfriend says. I like to meet new people I'm just not good at it in a face to face situation.
I live about an hour north of Indianapolis. In a blurp of a town that has four stop lights on its main street. I am currently not working but the field I am in is taking care of the mentally and physically handicapped. It is a very rewarding career however it is very physically and emotionally difficult. It is the right job for people who just need a paycheck. I am an atheist and I am not afraid to tell people that (just ask my 100% Christian family). I made that decision something like ten years ago. Nothing happened to push me in that direction it was more like I just got tired of kidding myself and trying to fit into the mold the people around me thought I should fit in. I was diagnosed with malignant melanoma in July of 2008. That was the last thing I thought I had to worry about at the age of 29. I had to have a few surgeries and go through a years worth of alpha interferon treatment. That year ended in December. I have started volunteering for a skin cancer awareness group called Outrun the Sun. We have a walk/run every year in June. I am trying to help spread the word about how much melanoma and its treatments suck. I love all kinds of music. I don't know that I could even pick a favorite genre. If I had to, I would probably have to go with indie. I am real big on local acts. My boyfriend and I go to see local groups a few times a month. A list of my favorites is ever growing and changing so how about a short list of what I'm currently listening to: Modern Lovers, Brett Dennen, The Dockers, Pansy Division, Roky Erickson, Radiohead, Arcade Fire, Phoenix, Grizzly Bear, Arctic Monkeys, Violent Femmes, Modest Mouse, The Beatles, Jellyfish, The Strange Boys, Ray LaMontagne and so on. |

I'm glad I'm not the only person that fails at face to face encounters. Welcome to MB!
Ps. ...and for later, try not triple post, or even double post for that matter. It's kind of frowned upon.
