Default Hejsa!

Hi!
I’ve been reading the forum for a while and it seems like a great place to learn more about music, so I thought I would do an introduction

My name is Katrine I’m 18 years old and I’m from Denmark (I’m trying to justify my bad English here :b). Only a few of my friends are interested in music so I’ve had to look elsewhere for conversations about music – so here I am!

My taste in music is still developing (and it has been doing so more since I started looking for recommendations here), but I mostly listen to folk, indie, pop and rock, but I also like electronic music (though I don’t know anything about it). I love Elliott Smith and have done so for a few years, but all my friends hate it.. (which I find extremely disappointing :b).

I’ll make a list of some of my favourite artists and bands:
Elliott Smith, Veto, Kashmir, Radiohead, Bob Dylan, Turboweekend, Spleen United, The Raveonettes, Mew, Bon Iver, Troels Abrahamsen, Blue Foundation, The Floor Is Made Of Lava, Trentemøller and Cat Power

I hope you guys will help me broaden my musical horizon

First things first, your English really isn't at all bad. At least it isn't in this post. Secondly, this is a great intro thread. Alot of them we get here don't really tell us anything about the person or their music taste at all. Thirdly, i hope you stick around.

Welcome to Music Banter.

I talked about this with my friends many times because the name is so stupid if you just translate it, but I'm pretty sure they don't mean spleen as in the organ :b

Do they mean "spleen" as in Baudelaire's "Spleen de Paris" ? Anyway, I pretty like Trentemøller, but I can't help you with recommendations in that area, but I'm sure a lot of others can, and will eventually...

Welcome aboard
(that is the first time I use this smiley)

I don't know what that is when I've discussed their name with other people we always agreed (or I agreed with myself and they just said yes :b) that it probably means spleen as in being sad or depressed (I think I read somewhere that spleen can mean that as well)

I'm honored that I was the first to receive a smiley like that from you then :p

It is more of an eternal melancholy, so I think your guess was correct in a way

... and I'm glad I finally used that smiley lol.

Are you kidding, that's the coolest name ever.

In fact it's so cool their music would only ever disappoint me.
