Hi from Prague

Hello everybody,
just now I found this forum by accident. It seems to be nice accident so I decided to be here between members.
My name is Petra, I'm 24 and I live in Prague - Czech republic.

Well, to be honest I am not music theorist, probably I won't write music reviews. My plan is to find here some new music, some music ideas and to read about music. But never say never... Maybe someday I wil find some need to share my music thoughts with you. But for now I am a newbie and I have still a lot of what to discover in music world so I don't feel like somebody who is able to write what si good or bad music. By the way - what is "good" and what is "bad" music?

I don't care so much if my music taste is "good" or "bad" - I listen to everything what gives me energy, ideas, emotions, fun or goose bumps... I like diversity and odd music means often better music for me. I need more styles and more languages. So my favourite music is big mixture, maybe crazy mixture for somebody...
I prefer rock and folk. But I am really open-minded so I like also pop or metal and some other styles. Alternative, progressive, metal, celtic, medieval, classical + classic, pop-rock, experimental, jazz... Only hip-hop and techno aren't my styles. But my boyfriend loves techno and brother hip-hop so I have really many influences.

When I was a child, my first music was The Beatles, The Kelly Family and classical music. I play a flute so classical music has always some space in my life. Than I was in love with U2, R.E.M. and some czech bands. 2008 and 2009 were years full of new music from many countries... I realized my fave music is now progressive rock or metal and also music in many languages - czech, english, finnish, mongolian, german, spanish, polish, greek, italian, dutch...
My favourite bands are Marillion and Porcupine Tree. I love also Blackfield, Ayreon, Riverside, Lunatic Soul, Dream Theater, Mostly Autumn, Värttinä, Viikate, Altan Urag... I like Alanis Morissette, Tori Amos and I admit - I still listen to some ex-members of The Kelly Family. Especially Jimmy Kelly and Maite Itoiz & John Kelly.

It's all about me and music.

Hey welcome! That's a pretty nice introduction you've laid out for us and I quite fancy your musical taste. I'm pretty sure you'll love it here, there's a lot I think everyone could learn at MB. Hope you enjoy your stay
