With Porcupine Tree you're right about the time signatures... I really love the fact that they can pull out an intricate complex song but aren't afraid to play a more simple song at the same time. With a few Prog. bands I sometimes find they try and over-complicate to really drive home that they're different. Porcupine Tree are different but they don't get lost in the ways these other bands do, they have the ability to produce a straight forward minimalist piece that still sounds amazing. |

If you were any sort of smarts, you'd check out Still Life first. But hey, that's just me. |
