Default Hello

I liked reading the threads so much that I joined! I'm open to any music except what people call "rap" these days. I like to play the drums and xbox.

Favourite X-Box game?
How long have you been playing the drums?

My most played game is GTA IV since it came out. I can't stop for some reason.
Other than that I'd say Oblivion and the first Fable are tied for first. But I'll play just about anything.

I have been playing the drums for about 8 years. Drum set for about 4.

"The drums" meaning what?
Any drums?

Ha, actually I sould say percussion in general. I play timpani any chance I get and I first started out on snare. I want to go to college for music so I need to audition on snare, timpani and vibes. I can play any key instrument too.

Welcome, Kill. A list of bands so the judging can begin? Also, care to elaborate on why you don't like rap?

To start off my favorite band is the Smashing Pumpkins. I also like, the Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Radiohead, Rage Against the Machine, Tool, Nirvana, System of a Down, Raise Against, Rolling Stones, Dethklok, Neutral Milk Hotel, Tokyo Police Club, Elliott Smith, Korn, REM, Rancid, the Cure, Gogol Bordello.
I can go on....

It's kind of hard to explain why I hate todays rap. Things like jay-z and lil wayne aren't interesting to me. But more old school rap seems to have more meaning to me. I respect it more than the stuff today. You know? I prefer Ice-T over Souja Boy and Tupac over Kanye. But at least 50 Cent and Eminem still have that feel to them that you don't get with other newer artists.

Sorry I made a name and my computer crashed so I forgot it. Plus, I couldn't think of anything else that I haven't used before. Don't hurt me! haha

I'm always confused when people say they like Dethklok. As a TV show, it ****ing hilarious, but as a band, I think they're pretty terrible. I dig on s ome Tool, Rage, Elliot Smith and the Beatles, though, so maybe I don't hate you quite yet. : P

As for rap music, if you're interested in listening to some decent, more recent stuff, let me know. Rap and hip-hop have gone a long way. Though the old school stuff is definitely nostalgic and irreplaceable, there's so much out there that deserves a listen. Years ago, you'd have to dig deep to find something remotely listenable, but now the understground stuff is blowing up. Check out the Rap & Hip-Hop threads and you'll see what I mean. Also, Jay-Z and Kanye are decent ****. Have you heard full-length albums or just what's played on the radio?
