I hate doing these posts

I'll go ahead and write this anyway, I'm Storm (thats my actual name, not some pseudonym), I'm 18, UK based, currently studying a BA (hons) in popular music and record production. I listen to all sorts, 70s funk to hardcore, twee pop to drum n bass, really not picky at all. Hopefully this forum will keep me amused.

Welcome Storm.

Hey newb, you're the one who's supposed to keep US amused.

Welcome and all that, who do you find yourself listening to the most these days?

FETCHER. 10-01-2009 05:33 PM

Welcome to MusicBanter :D !

stormjh 10-01-2009 05:39 PM

Ohh, fast replies.

Listening to lots of mathsy indie type stuff at the moment, Youthmovies, Battles, Colour, Meet Me In St Louis and the like.

I tried the IRC, seems to be empty? Did that die out since the OP?

Welcome! [=

Storm is a cool name.

Any instruments?

stormjh 10-01-2009 05:51 PM

I'm a shockingly average bass player, and can play a limited amount on keyboard, more into the production side of things though, hence the record production course, get to book the uni studios for free once term gets started properly. Need to find me some bands to get in there with though.

EDIT - And thanks, people don't tend to forget it, which can be a pain, cus I'm utterly hopeless at remembering other peoples names, and just to clarify, I'm a guy, that name can go both ways and I haven't mentioned it yet.

Yeah, crashed and burned apparently. Sometimes if there's enough people on AIM they form a musicbanter chat.. and there's always the shoutbox at the bottom of the main page.

stormjh 10-01-2009 05:57 PM

Unlikely at the moment, I'm living at uni and my 2 basses are back at home, and one doesn't work anyway, which is a pain, cus it's the one I like.

That's a pain cus I don't use AIM and usually sit in another IRC channel with people, but I'm sure ill live.

Ohh, no fun. I managed to fit my guitar into my packed car on the way to my school. xD

stormjh 10-01-2009 06:09 PM

That was never gonna happen with the little Clio, I couldn't bring my nice speakers from home either. Could hardly fit just my computer and all my clothes along with kitchen stuff and whatnot.

Arya Stark 10-01-2009 06:10 PM

Ohh. Mine's acoustic.

I can understand that, another forum I use to frequent quite a bit has a very successful IRC channel, too bad we couldn't get this one up and running.

stormjh 10-01-2009 06:27 PM

I think it's just a bit much for a lot of people to get the hang of, not everyone wants to be messing about downloading a client then working out how to use it and join different channels and what not.

Arya Stark 10-01-2009 06:34 PM

There's a URL for one, though. So you don't have to download the client.

Hello Storm. My name is actually Story so we kind of have something in common:D

I'm sure you will have fun here
