Smile Hi..:)

Hi,

I am Bhavya. Long time ago , I found this forum and got registered..lurked around for couple of days then lost my way.

So, this time I have promised myself active participation.
I live in Montreal , so was drowning in the Jazzfest for the past 10 days. Its almost a misnomer considering the kinds of artists you get to listen to.It was amazing.

I come from India, learnt Carnatic classical Vocals for couple of years then gave up but I can still recite couple of geethes - (short devotional songs )
Always wanted to learn to play guitar to so I am hoping this year , I do something about that.

I pretty much listen to all kinds..Classical ,Rock, Indie rock, world ,jazz ..
( I feel I am writing an essay .ha). I grew up in a small town so , my introduction to English music started quite late. Like 7 years ago.(am 27 now). And I remember listening to Scorpions and thinking "wow this is good stuff " ..

I can just list some in no particular order..out of top of my head
Nirvana,Bob dylan,Bryan Adams,Sigur Ros,,Radio head,A R Rahman,John Coltrane, Miles Davis,Ella Fitzgerald,Indian Folk music,Hindustani Classical ,Aerosmith,MIA,
Cold Play,Eagles,Pearl Jam,Sade,Metallica,Patrick Watson,Frou Frou,U2,Gotan Project .....

So,there you go..

Regards

Sorry, bhavs, MB doesn't like divergent opinions. You must conform or die. j/k

Here's a list of some of the newer bands that I like:

Animal Collective
Bright Eyes
M.I.A.
TV on the Radio
The Shins
Fukk Buttons
Vampire Weekend
Arcade Fire
Yeah Yeah Yeahs
Death Cab for Cutie

If you like Radiohead, Sigur Ros and Coldplay, I'm sure you will like these bands
