Awww, well I can't write like Mozart, my original stuff can't stand alone. But some of the most powerful songs are the simple ones. Specially with bass, bass is the heartbeat of the band. You can hear every other instrument but the bass you hear it and you feel it. Our theory, if it has more than 5 chords you're overdoing it. lol

Thats exactly right Jo. Welcome to MB!

p.s. im not too sure about the whole 5 chord thing though.

Aw, you can go a long way with 3 or 4 chords and a few few licks here and there.

hahaha, or I could rephrase to say "more than 5 chords and you're a real musician"

Ahhh, WTF, I keep posting and it keeps telling me I've only posted 14. Lamo!

It only counts when you post in the Music Forum. Spark it up, sparky.

Nice, and that's what really matters too. You can polish up a recording all you want but there's nothing like the raw sound of a good live performance.

Hahaha, well they're talented guys for sure, but are also very humble about it. All of them have been musicians for at least ten years, if not more.

I completely agree with what you said about recording. I've been to too many shows and have been devastated because the band sounds nothing like they do on record. Though it has mostly to do with the band, I think a lot of people fail to recognize it as the music engineer's work, too. Then there are bands you just expect to sound ****in' lo-fi and ****ty and I love those shows, too. They're always equipped with way too many intoxicated people, floors blanketed in beer, and a constantly moving crowd in a space too small for that many people. Ah, home.

We played with a really awesome metal band last night. They were really nice dudes too, fun to hang out with.
Haha, intoxication/inebriation with a large crowd in a small house is totally a recipe for a good house show. I like drunk people, they're entertaining.
