I like the scene here. I'm not to familiar with the Northern NM scene, my band doesn't play up there very often. Here in southern New Mexico the house show scene is huge (at least for a small town). We mainly have thrash, crust punk, and psychobilly bands.

Punk, I play keyboard. We weren't sure it would work, mixing guitar sounds influenced by the clash and black flag and keyboard influenced by jerry lee and mates of state but people around here seem to like it.

I would consider some of the bands here crust punk mainly based on the guitar riffs and the fast tempo..although not so much the lyrics. Ya, I can't post links yet but look up lascrucesshows on myspace and it's got a bunch of local bands on there. :)
