Default Hey

Hey guys, I'm Danny Nash - I'm running a blog over at guitarzero . org focusing on interesting music, reviewing albums and live, sometimes ripping to pieces with extreme bias criticism inside Australia and the world at large. This place looks like a fun place to **** around in for a while...

I also play guitar and do some singing and write the damned things too. Songs, I mean - yes. Well, anyway - I tend to try to find music that satisfies me on many levels, rather than your standard stuff - even though sometimes that can be ok, I find it more gratifying with music that is textured, you know? Not like a big slab of ice - like a log, with bark - rough bark. Bark that might hurt you cause there's spiders underneath it kind of bark. You know what I mean? Not metal.

I'm not so much saying it always has to be like that, cause I like my share of candy - which reminds me of The Dandy Warhols for some reason. It's like, fun happy stupid rock music with a degree of wit and sincerity. Unlike many of their counterparts, their music actually works without coming off completely full of **** - and is actually intelligent pop.

I like Pagoda, Pixies, Sun City Girls, Brian Jonestown Massacre, the obvious Beatles, Bowie, Nirvana, Scratch Acid, Hendrix, Lou Reed, Iggy, Tom Waits, Les Claypool, Breeders kind of thing, plus bands like noodles, which is kind of breeders style femme punk from japan, boris, flower travellin band, a few australian bands like Day Of The Meerkat, The Holy Soul, Ghosts Of Television, Nhomea, Coda etc.

I'm interested to know what kinds of music you guys are into. Care to share?

O..k...aren't you all glad I smoked that joint before I started typing?

Peace.

DN

Welcome dude.

I'm kinda sorta new here too. My taste in music tends to be more... aggressive. But hey - to each his own.
