That's the kind of **** that cares the piss out of me. Because most of my friends are older than me, they do have kids, life partners and are married. You know what I think about that?

I am so lucky that I can up and leave whenever I want. I'm so lucky that I'm not 1) carrying around an extra 40lbs because my careless boyfriend knocked me up 2) Taking care of a kid that I probably don't really want to take care of. I've faced it long ago that I'm way too ****ing selfish for a kid, and that's okay with me. If you're idea of doing something productive in your life is getting married and having babies, by all means, go for it, but please realize that this formula has been used for ages. Look at where we are now.

I hear what you're saying. I'm currently reading Farewell Party by Milan Kundera. Though he writes mostly novels, he can get pretty deep into love vs. procreation. It took me a long time to realize that love has nothing to do with sex and procreating. I believe this is so because I was so blinded by wanting to be love, that I didn't truly see it for what it was. Not to say I know what love is, but I can finally see past the hype of being in love with only one, making children with only one. Simply put - if we want smarter people out there, we're going to have to reproduce with smarter genes. Being in love does not equal smarter genes. Being in love can lead to a steam of blind choices. I think that instinct to procreate is natural in anyone. I think this is the reason why men are more acceptable to having more partners than woman. With child-bearing and giving birth, the woman naturally becomes more pickier in her partner. This behavior is not only in human, it is in most animals. Biologically, one of the variables to our homeostasis is reproducing; however, it's apparent that not the best of us are pushing out babies. I, too, think that there will be a day where I will want to procreate. Though I've come to terms with the fact that my genes will not be in this person, I've chosen to adopt if that day comes. I believe we're essentially the same. There are only so many elements to our beings and if we share all of these, doesn't that make us somewhat chemically the same being?

I don't understand what instinct has to do with a number on a chart. Also, if you think about it - we are all numbers on a chart. What do you think your social security number is?

I don't necessarily disagree with merging science with procreation, either. In fact, I think it's brilliant in some aspects. One being that we will be able to produce more enhanced humans. I'm not insinuating we evolve into some sort of utopia, but let's face it: we're lacking intelligence here on planet earth. It's sad to see with all the technology we're capable of and all the resources that are available to us.

What I'm saying is that as humans (ALL OF US) are chemically made of the same elements (main ones being: carbon, oxygen, hydrogen, nitrogen, phosphorus and sulfur), so doesn't that mean we are physically, possibly even emotionally and mentally one? You have to realize that not all of us have realized this fact yet. More importantly, what will happen when we do? I think it will be stellar.

Only went for about 2 miles. And didn't make it to the beach. It's been raining balls in SC. We're on week two of no sunshine. I think it's because two weeks ago, I bought a Tom Waits album.
