Default I'm a Swedish musician!

So hi people! ^^

I figured that an interesting thread title would bring more people to the thread, not that I know why that would be important.

But anyway, I'm a guy, 23 years old, and I like music; mostly progressive rock or "music with interesting/fresh ideas", since I mostly appreciate the theory behind it. Could be anything from "the more creative songs" by Queen and The Beatles, to heavier stuff like Opeth.

My favourite band is probably Dream Theater, but I would also like to mention Karmakanic, The Flower Kings, Symphony X, Transatlantic, Spock's Beard, Muse, Pain of Salvation, A.C.T, Yes, Genesis etc etc. So yeah, it's mostly progressive rock.

As a musician I mostly play other things than that though, at least "officially". This one is me playing several instruments, like the accordion and flute:
(I hope it's okay to link to youtube in the thread. Hey, this is about me, so isn't a few vids a good way to get to know me better? )

And this is a medley of 32 popular songs on acoutist guitar and vocals:

So anyway, expect to see me all over the forum, and.. well, we'll see how active I'll be.

Just ask if you've got any questions! ^^

I read "I'm a swedish fish" which would've made this thread much more interesting and delicious.

You won't last long if that is the case.

Sounds like what would happen if Liberace could play guitar.

Shit musician, by the way, wouldn't strive to emulate that...

Actually swedish fish is awful. =/ Well, the traditional way of serving it at least.

Really? Even if I'm discussion things properly, like I've done the last few hours? I'm thinking about making a thread about my video though, since I've got a few questions about it that I find interesting. Like "I've naturally heard all the songs, but it would be interesting to hear of there's *anyone* else that actually recognize every single song" and "would you say that this is a good representation of what songs are popular in this day and age?"

What sub-forum should I use for a thread like that? It *is* about music after all.

Hmm.. I don't quite get what you mean, was that a compliment or negative? =/ Or just a joke?

If you post the way you've been posting, you should be fine. I wouldn't recommend making the thread about it though.

And sam was just making a joke. Welcome

Hei Fredde, 26 år gammel norrbagga her

Nice to see a multi-instrumentalist joining up! I bought myself a couple of flutes some time ago (recorder and a c flute) and asked for helpful tips, but it seems noone knew those .. And kudos for knowing the accordian. Me and some friends who play in several bands together also have a couple of accordians, but we're not really good with them (either). Judging from the bands you like, you should fit right in. There's a lot of prog-love (though more old prog) on these boards already, so you should have no trouble finding some interesting threads.

Nice vids too! The first one was kickass and I'm sure I recognised every song in the 32, even the angry video game nerd theme ..

.. And remember to check out the journals, editors pick and members journals for some excellent threads like boo boo's prog stash, Seltzer's King Crimson discography reviews or Comus review corner.

Welcome to MusicBanter!

It's a bit late, but welcome to the forum!

Just watched your videos, and they were pretty awesome! I especially liked the first one, because Wind Waker was full of greatness. Knew MOST of the songs in the 2nd, but not all, but that was fun!

Anyway, see you around!
