Thanks again for letting me know. I have the widget code now but I am not sure where the help thread is here. Is it still a live thread? |

That is really awesome. The highlight of my year ( 2008 ) was actually meeting Roger Waters at Palm Beach Sound Studios last December. PBSS has a two inch tape machine...which is basically never used by the ProTools generation bands that record there. Since I am writing a book about the Florida music scene ( beginning with The Spooky Kids {that became Marilyn Manson } and all the other FT. Lauderdale bands ) I am often at PBSS when bands have sessions. So in December while doing an interview with MRI's engineer, I noticed a silver haired man ensconced in his work in the two inch studio. I asked the engineer "Who is that" and I flipped when he casually responded "oh that is Roger Waters working on a Christmas-related project/recording" -- suffice to say I had to introduce myself. He was extremely polite and nice ... a perfect gentleman. Of course I went home and listened to Dark Side Of The Moon and called all my friends LOL who were Floyd fans, including my parents! Really...when you think about it...Pink Floyd basically rewrote the book in terms of the art of the recording process. They are also in their own league, musical genre, and historical significance in their contributions to music on both a spiritual and ecumenical level. |

I was on cloud nine for weeks!! I had butterflies so much that I couldn't ask for autograph nor get a pix ..but also, as I don't think he was prepared to be noticed, I wanted to give him the respect and privacy etc...
This is great that there are Floyd fans here. I am sure you all are familiar with the band Big Elf ... if not...go check out the song/video ( on youTube ) for "Money, it's pure evil" One would swear that David Gilmour is playing guitar on that track & you can even hear some exact phrasings from the "Comfortably Numb" guitar solo. |
