Default Heyyyyyy. I'm Kate & I'm crazy about music!

Hi!

I'm new here. I've been looking for a music forum for a while and came across this one and can't wait to start posting and sharing musical conversation and such

I live in Melbourne, Australia and I live and breathe music. I play piano and some guitar, and sing. At the moment I'm playing piano in a little acoustic/ unplugged outfit. I love such a diverse range of music but I'd have to say my favourite bands/ artists/ musicians to listen to would have to be: Tool, Mozart, Muse, A Perfect Circle, Karnivool, Cog, Radiohead, Incubus, Jeff Buckley, The Beatles, The Butterfly Effect... AND MORE! If you haven't heard of some of those bands it's probably because they're Australian - and they're damn good - I support the Aussie music scene!

Anyway, just wanted to say hello and hope I'm welcome here

Didn't watch them to be honest, kind-of anti-Arias, I'm never really interested in the artists who are nominated! There is so many better Aus artists who don't get a mention because they aren't mainstream. So yeah, kinda apathetic towards the Arias Although I DO have a guilty pleasure of enjoying The Presets so I enjoyed their successes. How about you?

Well, I watched the first half hour or so, but had to leave and study for my English HSC on monday. I'm not really anti-Arias, you can't expect the mainstream music awards to give much recognition to the mainstream. Although it is sad that Gabriella Cilmi can clean up just because she jumped on the Amy Winehouse neo soul bandwagon. Was very happy for Nick Cave though, he won best male artist.

My mate bought Apocolypso yesterday and I had a listen and I thought it was pretty enjoyable for dance music, which isn't really my thing.

Me too. I have never been a fan of awards for music anyway. One mans meat etc. I guess it was nice that Geoffery Gurrumul Yunupingu got recognised but that was about it for me.
