Matt's Introduction
Hey, I'm new here. My name's Matt and I'm 17. I've been looking around for a music forum and this seems like the best one. I live in a relatively small hick town in Oregon. Everyone I know has mediocre (at best) taste in music, so talking about music, getting suggestions, etc. is impossible where I live. I just started listening to music two years ago, before that I didn't bother listening. I like most genre's of music.
These are my favorite's, but I like a whole lot more than this. Composers: Ennio Morricone Bernard Herrman Nino Rota Mozart Beethoven Bands: Aesop Rock Aerosmith Against Me! The Beatles Beck Bob Marley Bob Dylan Bright Eyes The Clash CCR Daft Punk Depeche Mode The Doors The Eagle's Flight of the Conchords Flogging Molly Frank Zappa The Fugees Howlin' Wolf John Fogerty Johnny Cash Joy Division The Kinks LCD Soundsystem Magnetic Fields Metallica MSTRKFT Neil Young Nick Cave Pink Floyd Pixies Pretenders Public Enemy Queen RHCP R.E.M. The Roots The Sex Pistols Smashing Pumpkins The Stooges TV on the Radio Weezer The Who |

You're better off in a small hick town in southern Oregon than the big shit town in northern Oregon.
Looks like you have a pretty open mind when it comes to music. Keep an open mind and you can find a lot of good music here. EDIT: Good name, My name is Matt also.

Thanks. I'm probably going to go to college up in Portland once I get out of high school. Just out of curiosity, what don't you like about Portland? I've been there a couple of times and I really liked it, and I've pretty much only heard good things about it (other than the weather and the traffic).

There are plenty of good things about Portland. One of the most diverse music scenes I have ever seen. Its in a great location to make a run to the beach one day and be on a mountain top the next. The beer selection is awesome. There are microbreweries everywhere. Overall I'd give Portland a 6 out of 10. Its a pretty good city but the downfalls are big ones.

Portland has some good things about it though.. for anyone that likes gourmet and fresh foods Portland is a great city.. good local scene.. but you cant swing a dead ****roach without hitting a bunch of morose tattooed vegan a-holes... might be why i don't live there...
*wow... did't realize you couldn't say "c ock" even if it's part of the word "c ockroach"
