I dont get this thread. Just because someone is new to the forum, means they are a noob to music and need someone to help them??? i doubt that... and because you have been on this forum for a while means you know a lot about music?? It is up to the individual person.

This thread was intended as just a bit of fun.

Some recent newbs knowledge of music has been pretty impressive and their tastes quite broad.
Others have limited taste and stick to what they know, hopefully picking up something new along the way.

A newb is someone new to the forum, despite what they know.
A n00b is someone who never learns the ways of the forum and refuses to open themselves up to other members tastes and suggestions.

I don't think it's at all degrading... if I have someone guiding me through my first few weeks then that's nothing but a good thing in my eyes. All forums have their own unwritten rules and things and we all need to learn them somehow if we're planning to stick around. This just makes it easier.

Yeah, it was meant to be fun. And its not like they're FORCED to sign up. Its voluntary.

Um... hi? I would like to think of myself as a rather low-maintenance newb since I have basic competence in the realms of grammar and forum use. As an added plus, I probably won't post often. Either way, I'd appreciate a helping hand, since this looks like a good community that I want to not make a fool of myself in.

Glad that i stumbled in here!

I'm prepared to adopt anyone who needs it but warning I've been here longer than almost the majority of the people here who aren't mods right now and yet most of the people here still don't realize who i am.

Also i really haven't got a specialist genre in which in can teach anyone into, more a general scope of random lists of bands and artists from all over the place.
However if your a musician and a bit of a beginner at that i have extensive knowledge in that department i like to think.
