actually the opposite is true for two reasons. the first is that purebred animals are quite often inbred. the second is that crossbreeding animals makes for stronger genetics by some molecular selection process (or something of the sort) that goes on which tends to favour the better genetic attributes of the progenitors.

^I've heard that too. They come ready tho (all shots and vaccines so nothing is given to the pets they're going to live w/) unlike shelter pets who could have and spread leukemia etc. A lot of shelters can only afford to give basic vaccinations and leave colds etc untreated.
