So basically there's no actual nice way to do it. Your cat is going to hate you for thirty seconds, but after that it'll be like it never happened and they'll want you to scratch their ears.

Seriously watch how easy it is on youtube and then buy a pill gun. Don't waste your money on a vet visit. Pay the five bucks for a gun and voila, problem solved.

Dude, maybe that worked for you, and maybe it would work nine times out of ten, but you wouldn't tell somebody to do anything involving medical advice without seeing an actual doctor.

It's irresponsible to tell to tell him not to talk to a vet first. **** that ****. No matter what I said I always said to talk to a vet, because I am not a qualified veterinarian anymore than you are.

So shut the **** up about not seeing a vet. Seriously.

Alright, so first thing's first, I asked my mother and she was adamant that you need to be very careful about this. She's worked in a vet clinic (not as a vet though) so she does have some expertise.

Her advice is that if you can't do what I said (get your cat to eat food with dissolved medicine in a broth mixed in with their food) then her way was basically to corner the cat, force it into some kind of corner where it couldn't escape from while bodily holding it in place, and force the medicine down its throat. While you're doing this, take a squirt bottle and spray the side of the cat's mouth to wash it down. Make sure to spray the side of the cat's mouth, otherwise you could spray the water down its throat and into its windpipe.

My mother has a history of keeping near death cats alive for months, even years after they should have stayed alive, in comfort. So she doesn't just keep miserable animals that wish they were dead alive. My mother is a psychopath about making sure all of her animals live the maximum amount of happy years available to them and if there was anyone who I would listen to, it would be her.

Seriously, she's ****ing crazy, but I wouldn't even trust a veterinarian with the last years of my pet before I would trust her. Even they are amazed at the relatively healthy condition of the animals she finally has to bring in to be put to sleep.

No it worked ten time out of ten and is the preferred method of veterinarian clinics, so you can shut the **** up. You advised him earlier to shove his fingers down his pets throat what is the difference genius?

I also advised him to talk to a vet regardless of what he did. You advised him not to. Would you advise someone on medical advice for a human being and tell them not to see a doctor?

Seriously is that the only option? Have you ever done it?

I feel nervous trying it.

I'm late getting to this but yeah just put the pill in it's mouth. Close it's mouth and stroke it's throat to like get it to swallow. I've done it numerous times and it works like a charm. Run your finger down it's throat on the outside.
