Thanks, everyone. I appreciate it.

Really sorry to hear about your loss as well, Ninetales.

Sorry to hear about your beloved pets passing. Our dog is now 15 years old and I'm dreading the day she becomes ill or incapacitated in any way. She's been part of the family since I was 8 years old.

We're going to be bringing home this beautiful Saint Bernard puppy this weekend. She's 15 weeks.

But congrats, Pete!

We've had...six Saint Bernards over the years. Great dogs. Not the brightest but they're just so goofy and sweet. I suggest you don't underestimate the drool and the shedding though. I've seen almost basketball-sized hair balls rolling, yes rolling, across the floor only a few days after the floor was just vacuumed.

I occasionally drool in my sleep so I suppose we'll have that in common. As for drool, I think I'll keep a stash of drool rags over the house and maybe even invest in a handkerchief just so I have one on me at all times. I'm actually looking forward to the shedding because it might mean other people take it upon themselves to help with the vacuuming. I'm assuming though, that the basketball-sized hairballs were a cumulative effort from more than one Saint.

Hah! A handkerchief. That's adorable. You'll be needing at least a handful of paper towels to go anywhere that train wreck of a doggy mouth.

True, but I'd still plan on never wearing black again. Even one 150-200 lb dog can destroy your clothes with hair.

Oh and it's kind of hard to tell from that pic but she kind of looks like a long hair. That's gonna blow when you have to bathe her. It's gonna blow real, real hard. And those dogs are like mules when they don't wanna do something, so you're gonna have to hit the gym if you have to manhandle her into a bath tub. Of course we're also terrible at training dogs to do anything.

We have a white, ginger, and cream coloured cats so I'm already pretty well versed in the art of lint rolling my clothing before I head out but good to know that a handkerchief won't cut it.

We definitely think she's going to be a long hair given the curly and fluffy nature of her ears, plus her father is one and I think it's a dominant trait. As for bathing, right now she's only 30 lbs and I plan on starting obedience training right away while she's still malleable.
