Question for cat owners.

My cat has long-ish fur. Not really long, but not short either.

I am concerned about him getting a pooey arse when he does a poo.

Is it recommended I trim his arse with scissors? Or is that a bad idea and unnecessary?

Thanks

If you have never done it before. Let a vet do it or a professional groomer. It's not an easy thing to do and they will do it better.

You made me think of my best mates ginger cat who she bought as a kitten with long fur. He used to poo at the start and get it all over his furry bottom. I suggest getting a wet cloth or wet wipe and just wiping it off. It's not that hard to remove. That's how my friend did it. We used to adore his fluffy bum because he waddled slightly! So cute.

Most vets and/or pet stores offer what they call a sanitary cut. Usually pretty cheap and well worth the money.

Nice one. Would it be hard with clippers as well you reckon?

Will try this when he gets in. Put some soap on it as well?

Brilliant.

In all seriousness, cats have been around for millions of years and are quite capable of cleaning their own sh**ty arses.
