What are some good Indie bands? (lead singer, pop, rock, solo)

I forgot about Copeland, I like them bunches. Fletcher is another good one.

copeland rocks, but i'm not sure if its exactly "indie" i dunno.. Modest Mouse diffantly, just please dont listen to "float on" listen to the lonesome crowdest west if you must, um.. basically the whole lollapolluza line up. haha.
