Spoon kicks major Ass, you need the song "the way we get by" it is an essential for this group. Or just go out an buy any of their albums, they are awesome!

AmyLeeFan 08-28-2004 05:02 PM

Runaway 08-28-2004 05:11 PM

Spoon

I heard a Spoon track on a wee university radio show, and really liked it. Started checking out more of their stuff and the freebie mp3s are a bit disappointing.

http://www.spoontheband.com/site.html

The first one is kinda cool, but the second a little too bland for my liking. Is anyone a fan? Would be nice to be redirected to some of their better songs.

Urban Hat€monger ? 09-06-2005 11:44 AM

Buy their Kill The Moonlight album.

I loved that album but the rest of their stuff has never done much for me.

Sweet Jane 09-06-2005 11:47 AM

I trust your musical taste, I'll be doing that. Cheers. :)

hookers with machineguns 09-06-2005 12:25 PM

Don't trust me on this, but I've heard most of Girls Can Tell, and that seems like the album for me.

Oh, and I found some mp3s, including that annoying song The Way We Get By..
Spoon- The Way We Get By
Spoon- Jonathan Fisk
Spoon- Lines in the Suit
Spoon- Me and the Bean

 Check out this other thought provoking thread on them- clickage

IndiElectronica 09-07-2005 03:48 AM

i have their new album and quite like it actually. Will be getting their back catalog shortly to check out too...

puddin 09-08-2005 03:15 AM

A Series Of Sneaks and Kill The Moonlight are great albums.
My favourite songs by them are Paper Tiger and Advance Casette.

Expletive Deleted 09-22-2005 07:51 PM

Easily one of my favorite bands. Album rankings for me goes...

A Series of Sneaks > Girls Can Tell > Kill the Moonlight > Gimme Fiction > Telephono

But they're all amazing.

IndiElectronica 10-25-2005 04:51 AM

aye - just got into them as well recently with their last LP... all their others are on my list to get and check out...

Expletive Deleted 01-08-2006 11:26 AM

One of my favorite bands, they have to release an album that's anything less than great.

IndiElectronica 01-08-2006 02:42 PM

have got most their other albums now - ABSOLUTE SUPERB group... shame I just recently found them... they've opened for 2 (!!) bands I've seen but missed them both times as well :(

After Grandaddy, Spoon is my fav band right now

talking0head0 01-10-2006 09:53 PM

I was so excited when I saw this. I think if Les Savy Fav leaked tomorrow my year would be complete and I could stop listening to new music until 2008.

Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga is album of the year for me right now.

adidasss 06-12-2007 11:31 AM

Just getting into them, I downloaded Gagagaga and Gimme fiction, the former seems to be more complete. Great stuff, hella catchy and easy to listen to. I remember seeing the cover for Gimme fiction as your avatar Ex. a while back but never got around to hearing them...
I must've heard I turn my camera on about a million times on random Tv commercials though...never knew who played it.

Urban Hat€monger ? 06-12-2007 12:21 PM

You wanna get Kill the Moonlight. I've never found any of their other stuff that interesting to be honest but that album is a good one.

Ruefbomb 06-13-2007 07:40 AM

I love the music of Spoon, particularly Girls Can Tell and Series of Sneaks. However, I've seen them twice in concert and don't find their live shows to be very interesting. Do other people have similar reactions to bands? Liking their music at home, but finding their live shows uneventful.

Flying Bison 06-13-2007 10:26 AM

i agree with everyone spoon is great, just recently got into them after hearing 3 of their songs in a movie..however i have known about them for quite some time

btw this is my 1st post on the forum

Madam Im Adam Ha 06-13-2007 04:58 PM

i just listened to gagagaga

damn good album

IndieShotYou 07-01-2007 11:38 AM

Spoon- Ga^5

The album is amazing... It's much more experimental than anything they've ever done and even though I would like to see them return to their punk roots this will do just fine. I'm not sure if I like it as much as Gimme Fiction though.
