I enjoy Girls Can Tell... good album that. But they really weren't a great live act when I saw them at the Big Day Out.

Don't Make Me A Target is spectacular. Ga Ga Ga Ga seems like a real career-topper. I doubt they'll ever do better.

Been listening to Spoon recently. I love both Gimme Fiction and Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga.

Interesting.
I was never grabbed by Spoon until GaGaGaGaGa even though they are pretty much worshipped here in Austin. They are doing 3 shows in a row at a little outdoor venue here soon and the place is selling 3-day passes.
New album is coming sometime so we'll get to test your theory.

Not soon enough. I recently heard about the recording of it so I thought it was coming soon but all I can find online is vague references to sometime in 2010.

My opinion on the band has changed a lot since that post (Not negatively or positively, just different) but I still think it'll be all down hill from Ga Ga Ga Ga. I can't really see where they're go next with their sound.

Their sound is not the sort that it needs to be "gone anywhere with".

It's really just a question of whether they can get out another set of good songs within the current framework. But if I'm any judge, GaGaGa was flukily good and will be very hard if not impossible for them to beat.

Their sound has progressed/taken a detour on every album, I see their next album being a carbon copy of Ga Ga Ga Ga. Not a bad thing, I just don't think they'll do better.
