What happened to NMH? Jeff Mangum hasn't released any music since 2001.

Jeff made an unannounced appearance at Zuccotti Park during the Occupy Wall Street demonstration in 2011. He was supposed to tour in in 2013 but I haven't heard of any tour dates he's actually played.

He's been on tour. Neutral Milk Hotel are back together, they are all going on tour here soon.

Jeff played with Guy from Rites Of Spring and Fugazi at some benefit that his wife was part of recently, he also put out a boxset with a new EP of previously recorded material on it.

It's hard to believe that Jeff Mangum can make a living playing a handful of benefit gigs and launching a tour every four or five years. He's married to Asta Taylor who has taught film making and media classes at SUNY and University of Georgia and made a couple of successful documentary films. Maybe she's the primary wage earner in the Mangum household.

Default Neutral Milk Hotel

I didn't see any current threads on this band and my search came up empty. For any fans of this band, they have reunited and will be touring this winter. Thoughts? Anyone expecting a new album or heard anything along those lines?

I'm curious why the search turned up goose eggs. Maybe I'm doing it wrong?

I plan on seeing them sometime in January. Looks like its gonna be a good time.

I don't expect any new album any time soon though.

I enjoy NMH quite a bit; I've always thought it was kind of interesting how polarizing In The Aeroplane Over The Sea is; people either love or absolutely hate it.

I can see why people hate them, at face value. Still, those who know, know much better. I also don't expect another studio album but I will go well out of my way to see them perform.

I imagine tickets might be pretty pricey though. People I talk to still have this perception that they're still a small time "indie" group.
