Oh my lord...I just started listening to Only by the Night. Definitely much more polished sound than any of their previous albums, a HUGE difference between this and BOTT.

So far, I like it. This may be good.

Agreed. Pitchfork shat all over it but I like it quite a bit. My favorite tracks are Sex on fire and Manhattan. The only song that didn't work for me at all was 17.

yeah I didn't get '17' either. I'm also starting to like 'Cold Desert' a lot.

Pitchfork can shove a pitchfork up their mighty ass crack for all I care. Just because a band changes its sound doesn't mean they suck. I like this album way more than any of their other records, and I really did like Because of the Times.

The new Album definitely has my vote over BOTT, some great tunes on it.

I'm not a big fan of where they seem to be going, every album they're a bit more polished and sound like they want to do stadium tours. The new single bores the pants off me to be honest.

I have never really got the appeal of the band TBH but I am the other way around Luke. I don't mind the new single.

New single is alright...I agree about the polished sound, though. Sounds a little too "Matchbox 20ish" for my tastes.

they wouldn't be the same without his voice but I will say that I'd like them more if he gave the band more of a chance. They are such amazing musicians. After first impressions, everyone seemed to ditch the strokes for the kings as best band. They're good but not the best in my opinion.
