"Kings Of Leon recording 'chilled out' and 'beach-y' new album"

So in other words they're recording another boring middle of the road album for people in their 40s? Cool!

Despite what other members think, I enjoy the occasional dose of KOL I wouldn't listen to them all the time though. I don't like them that much but they're not that bad in general.

OBTN ruined the band for me. I don't mind if they thought fuck it let's get a bit of money and success for an album, which they did. But they're just gonna continue to make that type of music for the rest of the time they're a band. Taking no risks. Just really bland dull music with 3 hits on there. sad considering how much I used to adore them.

I wish OBTN didn't change my opinion of Because of the Times and Youth & Young Manhood but sadly it did.

I'll still give their latest effort a listen and let it sit in my iTunes to rot, unless something spectacular happens and I actually enjoy it.

I haven't heard all their albums, only the most recent. But I found it nobad. I couldn't listen to it all in one go, as I said, I don't like listening to them over and over.

LOL, Because of the Times was as much of a "sellout" album as Only by the Night...

If you're into rock and roll their early albums really eclipses their last one. You should give them a listen since you're impartial, I think you could enjoy Because of the Times. then again you might hate it.

No. It wasn't, it was still true to its roots. Black Thumbnail and Charmer are far from bland and boring.
