Kings of Leon is an amazing band, but their newest CD was very bland compared to their older music.

back onto the topic of KOL. My favourite song is either taper jean girl, the bucket or be somebody.
thats a pretty good idea, i'll try it with the next recommendation im given .

KOL had a few decent songs on Because Of The Times (?), but now they pretty much just write boring radio rock for 30 something year old mums to buy while they're in Asda.

I consitantly hear the same songs on the radio over and over. I like a few of them, but the ones I dont like, I want to kill myself.

The Kings of Leon remind me of the ChesterField Kings, I sometimes I wonder if they are the same band or they were just heavily influenced by them. Maybe it is a synchronous accident they sound alike.

On the basis of their first two albums, they're an incredible band. Their third was a little dodgy, then their label decided it was time to lose the beards, tear off their sleeves and write a catchy song with 'sex' in the title. Now they're just mainstream and ordinary; It's such a shame.

Correction: Only By The Night is their 4th album. The first 3 are great.

It's the natural progression for any band that achieves the adoration that the Kings of Leon have. As their fanbase grows, it is inevitable that they will play larger venues, and they will then alter their sound to better suit Stadium gigs. I think KOL are one of the only bands that have successfully made the transition without becoming awful. Even though I still prefer Youth and Young Manhood and Aha Shake Heartbreak, Because Of The Times and in particular Only By The Night are not the massive musical disappointments that their older fanbase would lead you to believe.

I am in complete and absolute agreement with the last post! Looking forward to seeing what they do next!
