Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the KOL live experience... Hope it was a great show... be sure to post a review, even if it's only brief...

What's up kids, this is my first post, fig'd I'd start off with small times cuz I'm drowning in this place haha

anyway Kings Of Leon need to be thankful they dropped into a niche "void" that was open when the mainstream finally started taking notice of em. Musically they're moderate at best, they don't carry a signature sound aside from their singer's voice.

On the otherhand they have some catchy tunes, but I feel like unless they continue to push themselves to create better MUSIC, (not including vocals) and then write lyrics around the music instead of the other way around, that they won't be around for too much longer.

Hopefully their next album comes out with more bang.

I'll be honest, I avoided KOL for ages because I didn't like their beards. And I thought they were some kind of country/rock. Which they really aren't. Started to like them (late to the party, I know) with Fans and On Call. Some people seem to hate it but I absolutely love the song Use Somebody. It gives me shivers.

I've only started listening to them lately as well. Although they grabbed my attention when they released their first single Red Morning Light back in 2003, i've never felt the urge to go out and buy any of their albums. Lately i started listening to Aha Shake Heartbreak and Because Of The Times and i must say they're a bit hit or miss for me. They do have some really great songs, Knocked Up in particular which i must say is fantastic and On Call always sounds great, but they have a lot of average filler tracks that just do nothing.

And Use Somebody is a terrible song btw.

I actually quite like his raspy tone myself... and the fact that he isn't always pitch perfect doesn't bother me one bit... in fact I very much prefer it that way... and you can hear genuine passion in his vocals which is always a big plus for my ears...

i have to agree, i like the fact when one of his songs come on. you know instantly when the vocals start, its the kings of leon, whereas on the radio say snow patrol or something come on, it can be difficult to tell whos who.
