I'm going to be missing out on their concert here in Ottawa sadly because I didn't have the money for the tickets on floor when the tickets first came out >.< and hell if I'm going to pay for sh1tty seats either for the same price as floor.
=(
Got their albums though and the newest is my fav.

I saw them live at Lollapalooza at the beginning of the month and they were good, but too good. I have really lost touch with this band especially considering how unclean and unique they used to be. At one point in the show the lead singer said something like, "A lot of you have lost confidence in us, but who cares, were having the time of our lives right?" At that point I looked around in the crowd and noticed that I was a lonely kid watching a band I was trying with all my might to still love, but cringed at every "Only By The Night" song they played. The majority of the crowd were drunk frat boys. I'm disappointed with KOL and I fear they will never be the same again.

Hey, it happens.

O.O! WHAT! Are you serious?!
Wow... I'm sadden by this news.

I really do like all their music and Only By The Night album goes so far.
Not a real fan of the first album but the "Aha Shake Heartbreak" album was decent and my favs are "Because of the Times" and Only By The Night".

Outta all their songs - Closer... epic win. That song, no matter what mood I'm in just puts me in the best state of mind. It's amazing.

I personally think they're great, and why can't they enjoy a bit of love from the public... if the music starts to suck I'll tune out, but their last album was fine in my opinion, a little more mainstream oriented, but still full of good sounds and tight songs...

And really, I'm done with this whole "oh my god my favorite band is popular so now they must suck" idea... I'm done being an indie snob, it's boring.

Definitely not what I was saying. I said they changed their sound a lot, which caused them to become less unique and more mainstream. There's being an indie snob, and then there's just wanting your favorite band to stick to what their good at.

Sorry I was taking that a bit too far and din't mean to accuse you personally of being an indie snob... it was more a reference to myself.... I used to think that way and my post was meant to portray that not accuse others! No offence intended!

It's obvious they massively changed their style to be more commercial, god a song title like "Sex On Fire" proves that, but it lowered them a bit. I don't begrudge bands for going for the mainstream by any means, but it does usually mean weakening your sound to become more accessible.

Only By The Night is a decent album, but easily their weakest, it just kinda throws them in with the other generic rock bands, near the top of that list.

I heard that they got completely crushed the Reading crowd.....whether that's true is another story though -_-
