New album is a total yawnfest. Really disappointing.

Ive been really getting in their first album and really like there minimalist post punk sound. I still cant believe Stella was a Diver was about a chick giving head.

Nice bump. I did not know that either... of course, you never know what Interpol's songs are about. Isn't Evil about two people that raped and murdered a bunch of kids?

Wow I have no idea, where did you hear that from?

My friend saw them and said Paul wasn't the best live vocalist... I haven't really looked at any videos. Great in studio though.

TOTBL is one of the best albums of the decade hands down. Antics is inconsistant but has some stunning songs within it, and OLTA i think is a return to form - really enjoyed it. Although I must admit havent listened to it for a while... if i want an Interpol fix i tend to turn to TOTBL or Evil, Public Pervert or A Time To Be Small

I agree that TOTBL is their best, and I think OLTA is miles ahead of Antics. In fact, outside of Evil, I can say that I thoroughly dislike Antics. Pace is the Trick = Underrated.

I would say Antics is Interpol trying to really hit the mainstream with accessible tunes, and as a result the album suffers. Interpol are at their best when making layered, texturised, measured music - something Antics lacks.

That said, i wouldnt say its a terrible album, i'd still take it over half the stuff being churned out, and it definately has its moments - in fact Public Pervert, Evil and A Time To Be Small are 3 of my favourite songs Interpol have ever done.
