Need help IDing a 1995-2005 song

This is a long shot because I don't remember much about it. Been several years since I heard it. Probably made within that time frame although it could've been a bit outside that range on either end. Female vocalist with a soft and some might say the tiniest bit raspy voice. Subdued feel and slow pace that reminds me of Knocking on Heaven's Door by Dylan. Might've been some slide guitar in it although I'm not sure on that either. That's all I've got. I can hear her voice in my head but can't remember a single lyric
