Sugar (electronic, indie, albums, Nirvana, tunes)

All this talk of Husker Du has reminded me of Bob Mould`s other great band Sugar.

They recorded 3 fantastic albums in the early/mid 90s (Copper Blue/Beaster/ File Under Easy Listening) on Creation records that I played to death at the time.

If you want an idea of their sound just imagine how the Foo Fighters would have sounded if Dave Grohl had decided not to spend all his time pandering to Nirvana fangirls.

Too perfect of an analogy, if there is such a thing. Sugar, to me, is basically is a more melodic Husker Du. I think it can all be attributed to Bob coming out of the closet.

I love Copper Blue. Such great tunes! dunno about that anology... I'd it's say Hunker Du gone Indie-Pop, and if you don't know what Hunker Du sounds like then you should!

Just listened to new Bob Mould album 'Body of Song' and found it boring though...
