You guys ares just proving my point from the original post. Its sad really. Whats more important to you? Music or Banter. I choose music every time. I prefer banter in real life and not silly insults at people i dont even know on the internet. Thats just silly, and not something most of you would do in real life.

This is what makes you look new to forums. You can't just assume your kneejerk interpretation of someone's tone is accurate on the internet. Directness can easily be mistaken for hostility on a forum, but can just as easily be off-the-cuff honesty. I've seen plenty of people complain about a million things on forums, and most of the time it's due to a conflict between that person's expectations of a forum and the reality.

I've been on plenty of other music forums that are less chaotic than this one and I've never stayed long, because they're ****ing boring. Music Banter can appear to have no rhyme or reason, but that's why people come back. It has *gasp* actual character.

We're silly people and I'm fine if people who are rubbed the wrong way by that don't stick around. They'd just be boring anyway. What's so valuable about your time that you can't spend some of it being silly?

I am very opinionated on indie music, since it is one of my favorites, and I formed an opinion what is and isn't worthwhile. I like things that are a little more underground and a little less flash. I don't care for the more popular bands. I don't know what the state of the indie section is in -- cause I avoid it. And I was always under the impression that the Pop section drew more fanboys and haters, so I always thought that there was more stupid there, in the Pop section.

Yeah that rule is generally ignored up to a point. Change "rudeness" to "abusiveness" and you've got the de facto MB rule on insulting posts. Any rule that forbids "rudeness" is generally a piece of ass anyway. What fun is walking on eggshells?
