Ol’ Qwerty Bastard 02-17-2016 07:54 PM

As Jansz was saying, we're all pretty indiependant around here.

Tristan_Geoff 02-17-2016 07:59 PM

Are you asking if we all go to festivals together as a forum?

Joakimm 02-17-2016 08:10 PM

(Remember that i'm the new guy in this forum, and my motherlanguage is not english (just excuse my linguistics wrongs.)) No, just wondered if anyone in this forum that loved the same music (as me), used to meet for fun at festivals. We do here in Sweden.

Sorry if i stepped on toes. That was n o t the intension. Love is so much better than hate, this site is just great :)

RoxyRollah 02-17-2016 08:10 PM

Yes we do.

Ol’ Qwerty Bastard 02-17-2016 08:14 PM

No hate man, we just like joking around quite a bit, takes some getting used to though. As far as meet-ups go, there's actually a thread dedicated to member meet-ups, so yeah, to some extent I suppose it does occur. Not sure if any members have attended festivals together or concerts for that matter, you'd have to talk to someone other than me for that.

RoxyRollah 02-17-2016 08:20 PM

Yes we do.Im not kidding.

Joakimm 02-17-2016 08:26 PM

That's great RoxyRollah, where do u meet?

Qwertyy, joking around is nice, i like that. When it is love.

Thanks guys.

Joakimm 02-17-2016 08:38 PM

Hey, yeah u r kidding.

It's all good. Yeah I'm pretty into the american indie scene if that's what you're asking. The only thing I listen to when driving is college radio. I find tons of great new artists through local college radio, as well as the internet and a few other sources.

As for meeting as festivals, I'm not opposed to it, but at this point I'm still rather new to the forum and have yet to attend a festival. I really want to though. Stuff like The Fest in Gainesville, Riot Fest, SXSW, and Hopscotch are all festivals I really want to attend at some point.

And yes, this forum is great.

RoxyRollah 02-17-2016 08:44 PM

Well where do you live.

I want to make it to SXSW sometime soon, but I'm doubtful it'll happen within the next few years unfortunately. I think I'm going to do Osheaga this year though, at least that's the plan at the moment.

Osheaga's kinda far. Don't think I'll be attending that any time soon. Looks interesting though.

Yeah, I live on the Eastern coast of Canada though so it's the only real option for me, aside from Heavy MTL which imo has an incredibly disappointing line-up this year.

I get how you feel, iffy line-ups suck.

Anyone in AZ like to go to Indie Festivals? They haven't had a good one in ages.

JimiTheFreshman 03-02-2016 01:49 PM

Plan on finally going to my cities own local festival, Maha this year.

EvangelionLovr 05-16-2016 09:50 AM

Just got back from LA where I went with two buddies to Weenie Roast 2016. Lineup was sick:
Bishop (Briggs)
Bear Hands
Strumbellas
Lukas Graham
Nothing but Thieves
Miike Snow
Cold War Kids
Fitz and the Tantrums
Panic! at the Disco
Empire of the Sun
Blink 182 (Surprise Guest)
Weezer

RHCP Was supposed to headline but Anthony got really sick and had to be rushed to the hospital. I hear he's okay now which is good.

Still a great concert even despite missing the Chili Peppers. Blink and Panic were incredible and everyone else was great.
