I'm relieved to see The Sundays were already mentioned. Those guys are great...Reading, Writing, and Arithmetic is one of my favorite albums from 1990. How about some...

Good call on Rocketship. A Certain Smile, A Certain Sadness is what I'd imagine My Bloody Valentine would sound like if they went in a twee direction after Strawberry Wine and Ecstasy rather than experiment with noise.
