Mac Demarco
I picked up a couple albums from this guys after asking a record store clerk what he'd suggest for some chill jams. Wow, this dude is awesome. Awesome musicianship, laid back atmosphere. The production with the guitars at times reminds me of Les Paul's tone. You know, that guy who more or less invented solid body guitars and a **** ton of recording techniques? More or less changing the face of music forever? Him?
Anyways. If you like getting baked and buzzed on sunny afternoons and being bummish, this dude should hit your **** quite nicely. Favorite tunes:

I find this track fairly awesome:
The chords and his melody is just so strange and soothing, I really love it

In my opinion, Salad Days is probably his best release to date. It has a great Summer vibe to it and is definitely going to playing out of my speakers at the beach. The guitars on this album are so sharp yet dreamy at the same time. They really give that jangly vibe like on the title track, Salad Days. This was all pretty in par with his debut album, 2. One thing I really liked on this album was the addition of synthesizers, like in the song, Passing Out Pieces, and the sampling on, Chamber of Reflection. I'm glad MacDemarco went back to this style instead of what he was doing on 'Rock and Roll Nightclub'. That lo-fi, kind of noir, maybe a little dark at points style just didn't really sit with me. It almost accurately represents the cover with the whole 80s drag deal. This album was really a highlight so far in this year and I'm hoping to snacg a vinyl copy soon.
Sounds like a Tame Impala song |

I've been a huge fan of Mac's for quite a while; I can't really tell you why, but something about his music just gets to me and really makes me feel good. He hasn't really had a dud yet I my eyes, and I hope he continues to make really great music.

Yeah his music always puts me in a good mood, even the ones where lyrically, they are a bit of a bummer. Like you can go through some ****, but you know what? Its gonna be alright. Good on Mac to be able to create something that portrays his perspective.
