Default Gap Dream - Shine Your Light

Just wanna get the consensus on Gap Dream's second album. Curious because I don't hear much about this band and they're not great, but good and unique enough to earn more mention than they get. Their first self-titled had an original sound with a few bangers like 58th St. and My Other Man but didn't offer much replay value. I'd summarize their sound as a vague mix of beach and garage rock. The vocals are heavily filtered and pretty whiny. This, combined with the lofi guitar, are pretty disorienting. For what it's worth, I feel kinda dirty after more than 3 songs and my head hurts.

Their new album, Shine Your Light, cuts back on that terribly grainy sound and has a lot of more synth in it. Not much different though. A more appropriate album title would probably be Gap Dream Gets a Synthesizer.
