Default Similar to EITS

I heard a band that was similar to Explosions in the sky, but I can't remember the name. Does anyone know of a band with a similar sound but better. I believe this band is from Austin as well.

from Austin? You sure? The 4 good bands I can think of from Austin are Spoon, American Analog Set, Explosions in the Sky, …And you Will Know Us By the Trail of the Dead... none of them are very similar to each other, though American Analog Set 'found' EITS and got them their first record deal.. AmAnSet have been a favorite of mine for a couple years now..

Seen EITS twice now and they are quite a bit better live than their albums (which is saying something!!). DO make sure to see them live if you can, you won't regret it (even if not a huge fan). Took 15 friends to see them when they came locally and most hadn't heard their stuff before but still really enjoyed the concert.

Other similar bands to EITS I can think of are... Mogwai, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Sigur Ros, Slint, Tortoise and Disco Inferno... maybe one of those?
