'The Color and the Shape', and 'Nothing Left to Lose' are both very good albums full of great songs and catchy hooks. Ever since the acoustic album
things have gone downhill. That big single, 'Road to Ruin' is a great tune but it's the ONLY more than average song on the album. The best thing Dave's done in ten years is the QOTSA album. Maybe he should take a break for a while and play drums. I don't mean that as an insult in any way- he's an awesome drummer. It would give him time to recoup. How many other artists have that option?

I never said he was a bad drummer, but he's guitar playing is average but then again Kurt wasn't that great either, but he was an amazing song writer and singer.

I think The Color and The Shape is a decent rock album with some standout tracks although it is not particulary original. Dave did pretty much all of the playing on that album so it does sound a little different to the rest of their bland output.

I never liked Foo Fighters.
However they're swaying me slowly every time I hear a new song on the radio. I would actually pay to see them which is something I guess.

Foo Fighters are a great band. Yes, they are just out there for the bucks, and yes, Kurt would be rolling in his grave (had he not been cremated :P), but they still make good music.

This is true....but you can't expect Dave to ever get the acclaim that Nirvana had.
