The new album doesn't seem better than previous efforts, except for the more rocking edge. Pat Smear, yay.

The Night I Met Dave Grohl
I was chilling at a bar in Montreal called Bifteck aftert the foo fighters concert a little while back and who should walk in but none other the Dave Grohl himself!!
All I have to say is what an awesome guy!! He bought almost everybody in the place a drink we hung out all night and he told me a ton of stories about Nirvana back in the day including a couple about them performing at Foufs in front of no one and the tickets cost 3 dollars!! Imagine being one of the people who got to see Nirvana for 3 dollars in front of 3 people anyways just thought id share also I just purchased the Foo Fighters Tour DVD and cant wait to watch it! I think the Foo's are getting a new sound, a better one.

doubt it bro. They have been playing the same boring arena rock from 17 years now, dont think that will change anytime soon.
Foo Fighters will never change. Do not get the hype with them. I think even the best Foo Fighters song is not even as good as the worst Nirvana song. |

I believe that same boring arena rock you are discussing is what Nirvana became after Bleach. Nevermind was drivel to me and In Utero which is widely considered a great album i find boring. |
'Territorial Pissings' or 'Tourettes' is boring arena rock? How can Bleach be the only Nirvana album you appreciate while you prefer all those Foo Fighters albums that modeled after the later released Nirvana albums? That's so bass ackward I don't really know what to say...

FF has a better discography, thats my opinion. |
I can never agree on the basis I think teh self-titled Foo Fighters was the only good one. I used to think TC&TS was best, but listening to it now I find it really boring. "Monkey Wrench" is still kinda fun, but songs like "Hey, Johnny Park", "February Stars", "Up in Arms", "See You" and "New Way Home" just bore me to tears, that is what defines them as arena rock to me.
Even the worst Nirvana songs are more interesting than those songs. As I always said, even the best Foo Fighters songs arent even half as good as the worst Nirvana songs. The production on Nevermind gives it a but of the arena rock sound, but the songs make up for it, and sound better live. If not for the production on Nevermind seeming to held back, I would love it a lot more. In Utero has "Radio Friendly Unit Shifter" and I think that song alone tops every Foo Fighters songs to date. I love Dave Grohl, he is a reall nice guy. I just wish he would give up Foo Fighters and all that is benal about it, and do something great. He has it in him to do something that would blow away all he has done since Nirvana, but he just seems to not care to. Probot was interesting, he could do that again and I would be happy. |
